• Problem Solving/Strategising: When Claire's mind isn't focusing on shooting out lightning from her hands it is very capable of assessing the situation and coming up with a viable solution.
• Unfazeable: Not much can unnerve or cause doubt in Claire. She's self assured enough for words or situations to not get to her.
• Perceptive: Not much can get past these eyes and ears. 

Weaknesses:

• Arrogance: Claire's confidence in her own skills means she is often unwilling to consider the usefulness of other peoples abilities.
• Inconsiderate: Sometimes, most of the times, being empathetic and understanding of what others may be feeling is essential to working together and getting the task done. Claire easily forgets this.
• Impatience: For all the good plans she might come up with, Claire doesn't have the patience to go through with them if they can't be executed right. now. Sure she's smart enough to not be reckless but she will be a pain and things might go wrong. 
• Easily Offended: One comment worded wrongly and you're in Claire's bad books. But this is more than being avoided, Claire has a tendency to want to inflict suffering upon those who insult her. This means that speaking with her may be walking on thin ice and means she might not be the best team player. You want to get along with your team mates, and not fear accidentally causing them to have a vendetta for you, right?

History: Claire was born into a french family in Toulouse. While they were not the wealthiest of people they could not be called poor in the slightest for they were a family of scientists and doctors and therefore money was no problem. Their occupations set a very clear tone to the household however, especially when she was the only child. She was to be logical and objective. From a young age she was set before books and told about topics that even most adults could not care less about. Yet while this early exposure intrigued Claire, and left her without the understanding that most children her age played with toys and the like, she was also frequently restless and longed for something different. Unfortunately for her, however, this something different manifested in the discovery of her power to create electricity.

One day, when she was left alone with her books, she found one of her arms numb and full of pins and needles after not moving it for quite some time. Feeling the tingly feeling in her arm, she imagined that if she concentrated enough a flame or something like that would be created. Much to her surprise, a spark leaped out of her clenched palm, jumping into the pages of the book she was reading and setting it alight. A cry for help and a sobbing explanation later, her ability was discovered. Soon her books were discarded in favour of relatively harmless experiments to see if she could indeed create a spark and after that was proved, how it happened. The young Claire was not worried with these experiments. Instead their eagerness meant that she felt like the center of attention and her power meant that she was rightfully so. This was not helped by the fact that she was allowed more luxuries in order to keep her cooperation in those experiments and tests. She was a very happy now teenager, or at least that was she thought she was.

It took one solitary conversation with her friends at school for her to consider that her parents weren't actually that loving and caring; they treated her like a specimen for all those experiments and nothing more. When she brought this up that evening at dinner her parents just smiled and assured her that her fear was not true at all. They loved her. But over time she recognised that that mask of pretence they wore was slowly wearing away. She had to escape before that happened. Who knew what would happen if they acknowledged they didn't really care for their daughter?

That letter became her saviour.
